The joint venture formed by Brookfield and Logistik Service will start the construction of a logistics project for ESP Solutions in Murcia

• Work on what will be one of the most modern cold storage projects in Europe will begin in early January and will be located on a plot of 85,000 sqm, built in two phases of 20,000 sqm each.

Madrid, 20 December 2023. ESP Solutions, Logistik Service and Brookfield have signed an agreement to develop an innovative turnkey project located in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia, which is expected to begin in early January.

The real estate consultancy firm Proequity, which also successfully participated in the formation of the joint venture between Brookfield and Logistik Service, has been the advisor for this operation, which has also counted with the participation of two major law firms in the legal field. Gómez Acebo & Pombo and Garrigues have provided the necessary legal advice for closing of the transaction.

The project will be built on a plot of 85,000 sqm and will be carried out in two phases. The first will consist of the construction of a 20,000 sqm cold logistics platform, with a capacity of 35,000 pallets and 40 loading and unloading docks, with state-of-the-art refrigeration and freezing facilities, meeting the highest quality standards and prioritising sustainability and environmental measures. The second involves the construction of an additional warehouse with a floor area of at least 20,000 sqm. Once completed, these warehouses will be one of the most modern cold storage projects in southern Europe, with a total capacity of 80,000 pallets and 100 loading and unloading docks, joining the portfolio of this joint venture.
